Douglas C. Allen, MD
Dr. Allen is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine. Following his undergraduate education, Dr. Allen spent five years in the U.S. Navy. After his residency, he completed a fellowship in sports medicine at Duke University in 2003. A fellowship is the highest level of training available for a physician in the United States.
Dr. Allen is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and has served as chairman of the Medical Society's Sports Medicine Committee since 2005. Before joining New Mexico Orthopaedics, Dr. Allen practiced at Lovelace Medical Center in Albuquerque. In his spare time he participates in many outdoor sports.
